Is there method in the madness?

Service: Lighting Design.

Objective: create a physical design piece before manipulating on screen to recreate a poster from the series, Mindhunter.

This bespoke poster design is a recreation and ode to the Netflix series, Mindhunter. This project goal was to create something physical before manipulating on screen. While the series documents interviews with serial killers - the storytelling focuses on the telling of the acts, rather than depicting the horror of the acts themselves. In understanding the method of these tragic acts, the power of fear seems to be lost.

Highlighting this aspect, I took apart a similar tape recorder as depicted in the series and took it apart. Upon creating the show title with pieces of custom cut acrylic along with the tape recorder pieces, I felt this appropriately showcased the concept of the truth coming forth from the telling of the truth.
